Used Peugeot drivers looking for an economical family car need not scrimp on the space, according to the carmaker.
It says its 308 - which can be bought as a used car - has low emissions and fuel consumption, both of which compare well to other cars in its class.
Pierre Louis Colin, Peugeot UK's managing director, said finding a family car to carry five people in comfort while offering good environmental benefits was "a challenge".
He noted two models - the 308 HDi 90 and HDi 110 EGC - which bore the Blue Lion standard and "provide a spacious family vehicle, that can return more than 60 mpg" and have a vehicle excise duty of £35.
Mr Colin also commented on the new 308 Urban HDi 90, which costs around £14,145 on the road, as "good news for all motorists, reinforcing that they dont have to compromise" as they seek to reduce the environmental impact of their journeys.
However, drivers on a budget could find a decent family-sized Peugeot for less money as a used car.
The Blue Lion brand is Peugeot's environmental standard. Vehicles fitted with the Blue Lion badge have low CO2, good fuel economy and lower vehicle excise duty.
